Dominican Republic single origin coffee
Shade grown in the Caribbean, this beautifully subtle coffee has a caramel and vanilla up front flavour with a naturally sweet sugary body, notes of almonds and a smooth caramel flowing finish.
This coffee is 100% arabica and has been grown in the Barahona region in the South East of the Dominican Republic. Coffee produced in the Barahona region is typically grown on small farms at the perfect altitude for coffee growing, the coffee plants are shade grown - often under a canopy of pine, macadamia and guava trees.Coffee from this area is widely considered to be the highest quality coffee to be grown in the country and, due to high local consumption, it is estimated that only around 20% of their coffee crops are made available to the international market so it is a rare treat indeed!
